The Makers
Welcome to our business Thread & Thrown, founded in 2021 by a mother-daughter team with a passion for creating unique and high-quality handmade items.
Our mission is to craft pottery and leather goods that are not only functional but also beautiful and timeless. We take great pride in the craftsmanship of each piece, ensuring that every item we produce is made with care and attention to detail.
We specialize in leather goods such as bags, wallets, and accessories. Our leather products are made using the highest quality leather, and each item is crafted by hand in our studio. We believe in creating pieces that are both practical and stylish, and our leather products are designed to stand the test of time. Most of the creative mind and ideas for leather products come from Kim. When she wasn't able to find the leather bag she wanted in stores, she decided to make her own and she never stopped creating.
In addition to leather, Veanna also hand make ceramics. Our pottery is hand built and thrown as well as glazed in our studio, using carefully selected materials to create a range of stunning pieces including mugs, vases, lights and more. She draws inspiration from nature and the world around us, incorporating elements of texture and color to create pottery that is both functional and decorative. Veanna started her craft in middle school with sculpting projects and was then introduced to the wheel a few years later. With a few years of practice behind her, she is confident in her craft and always looking for the next thing to make.
While Kim and Veanna were initially the creative minds behind the brand, there are more creative brains involved to help it all run smoothly. Talia, another daughter of kims, is always helping out where she can whether it be inputting an idea or helping sew a bag. Often you can find her sewing for her little boy as well as herself. Our main sewer, Angela, is our genius when coming up with new ideas and producing a bag with no pattern. Constantly finding designs to recreate, she keeps the fun bags coming.
